Maik Kontos, born and raised in New Jersey has been working in the restaurant and hospitality industry for over 15 years.  Starting at a very young age, Maik worked in his father’s restaurant in Red Bank, New Jersey.  

Moving up in his field, he believed that learning every aspect of the business was essential to becoming a great restaurateur.  

In 2006, Maik and his father purchased Poor Billy’s and converted it to a fine dining restaurant and lounge currently know as Chris Michaels.  

Currently Maik Kontos, owns and operates 3 establishments in New Jersey with family. They are looking to expand and open up more restaurants under TFK Group.

The family is also beginning to branch out into other industries, such as real estate development, insurance and finance
